FAQ’s for Naks: RX505

Question:

RX-505 is not working with the following symptoms.  Turn it on and no counter display and no transport indicators will light.  None of the transport buttons work.  Capstans are turning though.

Answer:

Fuse F403, 1A was blown.

This fuse blows because the output of bridge rectifier D404 is shorted.  The short was caused by bad capacitor C411, 100uf, 16V.
